My past experience, both through employment and in community activity, has mainly been linked with education, particularly at Secondary level, including in a young offenders institution and in County Council Children’s Services.  In Derbyshire I was active in Community Arts and in East Sussex I also volunteered as a Community Mediator.

Those experiences have given me a broad understanding of difficulties that people, in different circumstances and at different stages of their lives can find themselves, and the kinds of support that is constantly needed by someone.  It also showed me how much we have lost, through privatisation of services whilst massive cuts have been made in work by local authorities.

I am interested in bringing back to members of the public, those services that are required for day to day life in Gloucester.  Where these have been eroded, I am interested in campaigning with others, for better conditions and towards an end to the current cost of living crisis.
